The Piece that stood out to me strongly at the Young masters was Logan Davidson's Catcher in the Rye. This mixed media piece depicting two Bison near a sharp cliff face. The layering in it works to tell the story from the book. The actual inclusion of pages from the book as the background is my favorite effect as it shows that there is a deeper meaning than only what we see.

My favorite piece from the adventure to NY was Christina's World by Andrew Wyeth. Although there were several amazing and fantastical pieces, the piece that brought me to tears was Christina. This has been one of it not my favorite painting of all time, and seeing it in person brought on an immensely powerful surge of emotion which gave me a good reminder of why I do art.

Jefferson County Art Exhibit 2014
The Piece that stood out to me the most at the Jeffco show was a piece done by a very good friend of mine, who I haven't gotten to see for a while. Natalie Stepaniak's Words Of Value captivated me with it's use of hundreds of words and phrases to literally draw a picture for the viewer of her loving relationship.
It also sticks out to me not just in it's unique technique, but because I am very proud of the love and emotion she was willing to share with the viewers
