Gallery visit 1: Went to Rise Up Gallery in Wynwood. I thought Bisco Smith's artwork was visually inspiring. A few pieces from his series "Studies in Elevation" caught my eye. I loved how he took an abstract approach to his pieces, but still captured emotion in every piece. By looking at his work I want to use my own abstract techniques to better capture the message in the art.

Gallery Visit 2: Went to Wyn 317 in Wynwood. I found Atomiko's work to be very unique. By using recycled street signs, he created a more urban look. After seeing this I will start to use creative materials to build my own canvas, and have my work stand out from the rest.

Gallery Visit 3: Went to Privee Gallery in Wynwood. Walter Girotto's piece "Distant" was captivating. I loved the different values, and how the woman almost looks transparent. I think I will start to blend my portraits with the background to make the painting draw more attention.

Gallery Visit #1: Arvada center - Annual Jeffco schools foundation high school art exhibit. Erin Dalton's piece titled "Come Together" caught my eye. The contrast between the hands and the background gives each element emphasis. I'd like to start adding designs in the backgrounds of my pieces to provide texture and emphasis.

Gallery visit #2: Pomona Young Masters exhibit. This piece by Thea Whelan interested me. i enjoyed the concept of the heart seeking safety. From this piece I'd like to use the contrast of black & whites to color in my pieces.

Gallery visit #3: Low Creek tattoo studio. Matty Lockhart's paintings are made from watercolor and oils. his style is loose but bold. These pieces inspired me to attempt a similar style, but with printmaking instead.
